After following all instructions I am still stuck with the same problem. My attornies are now looking after that problem. First off I contacted Best Buy: Despite my telling them I was in mid Atlantic on a 60,000 lb yacht they told me, twice, to take the ship's computer into one of their stores and have the Geek Guys look at it.Then, after being told my Sat Comm system was unavailable they sent me a telephone number. Now my Navigation Computer is seriously corrupted by the AUTO SYNC WORM. I set sail for the West Indies and attached the WT External Memory. NOTE I had no desire to purchase, acquire, or have bestowed upon me, any software or programs. I made my purchase at a Best Buy Store but only after consultiong one of their so called experts who assured me of the right choice.
I purchased a WT MyBook External Memory as a 'warehouse' for electronic marine navigation charts. Western Digital should find a new company to provide their backup software - this Memeo junk just makes them look bad. They might eventually get it right, but you should wait until then. I recommend that you don't buy Memeo software. Another way to look at it is that Memeo is 50x slower than Windows Explorer. Memeo copies files at 2% of the speed that Windows Explorer does.

I copied my nearly 8GB Unreal Tournament 3 install to the drive (1900 files exactly), and that took 10'21". To ensure that it wasn't a problem with the drive, I copied my 1.3GB Guild Wars data file (a single file) to the drive. To be fair, it is verifying the contents of all of the backed-up files as it goes. USB 2.0 may be slow, but it ain't that slow! The whole time, it's been using between 30% and 50% of one of my CPU cores. At this rate, it will take about eight and a half days to complete. That's right: after 19.5 hours of work, it has only backed up about 20 GB of my data. (I didn't take a snapshot of the other screen, which indicates that this process was started at 12:32 am, so it's actually been running for about 19.5 hours at this point, though it apparently was idle for a while) I've left it running overnight and over a day at work, and this is the progress so far. I set the software to backup my WHOLE drive (from the C: directory down, with no exclusions). This software is supposed to automatically back up your files as they are changed on your hard drive. It comes with WD Anywhere Backup, which itself is a rebranding of Memeo LifeAgent AutoBackup (I assume the standard edition). The drive itself is small, pleasing to the eye, and not too noisy. I am sure that Memeo will be more than happy to assist you as they did me.I just bought a Western Digital MyBook Home Edition as a backup hard drive.

I now intend to buy another copy of Memeo Instant Backup for my new Windows 10 based machine as I don't find the File History of Widows 10 much help. Memeo have given me the opportunity to try it out but it is not now part of the bundled software which came with my HDD. I still get an error message on startup that Memeo Autosync is not compatible with Windows 10 but, as I don't know what it is and have never used it, I am not too bothered. Memeo were most helpful and answered any of my questions rapidly and succinctly.

The only problem was that, after the upgrade, I was left with the 30 day trial version and had to ask Memeo to provide me with a new registration key as I had paid for the software. Without thinking of any ramifications I upgraded to Windows 10 and was very happy to see the backup was still working OK, although I did set up a new backup on the HDD just in case.

I have been using Memeo Instant Backup, which came bundled with my Seagate external HDD, for a few years on my HP laptop running Windows 7 and have been well satisfied with it although, fortunately, only had to use the full restore once.
